The prestigious London label turns five! As a treat, Hyperdub released "5: Five Years Of Hyperdub" end of last month, a 2-Disc Compilation of their finest bits. With it, Hyperdub takes a look back at the past years in which they have largely contributed to shaping the dubstep scene, while giving a glimpse of the future, where the label will undoubtedly increase their influence on the genre. Disc 1 compiles exclusive, unreleased tracks by Burial, Kode 9 and Zomby among others. Five of these tracks are said to be released as singles. Disc 2 is a bundle of Hyperdub's most popular releases. Online record stores like Boomkat can't keep up with the sales and are out of stock. I've listened to it and am impressed by the wide range and unique vibe. It's packed with all the big names and many big tunes of the label and genre, so there's no way of going wrong. Burial delivers strong as usual with a new and exclusive track "Fostercare" as well as two - "South London Boroughs" and "Distant Lights" - re-mastered. I won't say I looooove all songs on the record, but I can't remember a handful of albums where that was ever the case. 7.5/10 from me.
Talented UK DJ Oneman supplied XLR8R with a crispy crafted mix best described in its name. Summer's coming to an end, the frequency of festivals and outdoor parties is slowly going down. Enjoy what's left of it, wrap up and then go inside cuz that's where it's happening now. This chill mix is for those that really still want to sit outside when the party is over or someplace else. Features fresh tracks by some of the UK's most sought after artists, including Skream, Zomby, Mala, Scuba, D1 and others.

This looks to be one of the best compilations I've ever seen - I highly recommend getting on top of this because production is probably limited and it will definitely sell out. DON'T SLEEP!
Ramadanman will be in Boston in 2 days! Bassic booked him at Good Life down in da Chinatownz, and it couldn't be better timing. Not only is it FINALLY a weekend night show for some excellent dubstep, but Good Life has just recently renovated their space. I can't wait to see the new layout - I'm sure it will be magical. Ramadanman comes from North London, and has just finished up university in Leeds. After seeing Mala (of Digital Mystikz fame) at London's #1 Dubstep night FWD>> (at Plastic People) in April 2006, he whipped up a few tracks, got them mastered at Transition and released them himself online. Since then a slew of labels have smartly released his always proper tunes, including legendary SoulJazz, Tempa, Fabric, 2ndDrop, BareDubs, ApplePips and his own label started in 2007 with college buddies Pangaea & BenUFO, Hessle Audio.
Here's a vid from his April 2009 release of Humber (Apple Pips #5):
Here's some promo mixes that you should snag as well. Chock full of amazing tunes - most of them unreleased - these mixes will definitely stand the test of time.
