Artist of the Day: RAMADANMAN

Ramadanman will be in Boston in 2 days! Bassic booked him at Good Life down in da Chinatownz, and it couldn't be better timing. Not only is it FINALLY a weekend night show for some excellent dubstep, but Good Life has just recently renovated their space. I can't wait to see the new layout - I'm sure it will be magical.

Ramadanman comes from North London, and has just finished up university in Leeds. After seeing Mala (of Digital Mystikz fame) at London's #1 Dubstep night FWD>> (at Plastic People) in April 2006, he whipped up a few tracks, got them mastered at Transition and released them himself online.

Since then a slew of labels have smartly released his always proper tunes, including legendary SoulJazz, Tempa, Fabric, 2ndDrop, BareDubs, ApplePips and his own label started in 2007 with college buddies Pangaea & BenUFO, Hessle Audio.

Artist of the Day: Caspa

Caspa is easily one of my favorite dubstep artists. His tracks to date are the epitome of bass-heavy dubstep dance tunes.

He's a young producer straight outta West London. Apparently he used to be really good at basketball or something... but then he hurt himself and bought some turntables. I'm sorry Caspa, but I'm really glad that happened.

His new release Everybody's Talking, Nobody's Listening just came out last week, and you should really buy it. It's got a lot of featured vocalists, which is a pretty new aspect for Caspa's original tracks. And they are all amazing.

This remix, out on D-Style's Where's My Money [Caspa remix]/Tron 12", blew up last year - it's surely one of 2008's anthems

This is another banger, out on Caspa's Floor Dem/My Pet Monster release with Digital Soundboy


'Caspa - Born To Do It'
This track opens Caspa & Rusko's Fabric Live 37, which marked dubstep's first appearance into Fabric's prestigious DJ mix series


'Caspa & Rusko - Bread Get Bun'
I just stumbled across this track, and it's pretty tight. Caspa & Rusko are both solo artists, but they often collaborate and perform together. This track is from Aquatic Lab's Bread Get Bun/King George release


'Caspa - Cockney Flute [Rusko remix]'
This one's not really a Caspa finished product, it's Rusko's remix...but who cares. It's from the Dub Police (Caspa's 2nd of 3 labels) release, Acton Dread/Cockney Flute [remix]
